Example (Academic Task 1 – Line Chart Summary)
The line chart shows the number of bus, train, and car users in London from 2000 to 2020.
Sample Answer (Band 7 Level)
The chart illustrates public transport usage in London over a 20-year period. Overall, train use increased significantly, while car use dropped steadily.
Train passengers rose from 40,000 in 2000 to almost 80,000 in 2020. Bus use fluctuated but remained around 50,000 throughout the period. Conversely, car users decreased from 70,000 to about 45,000 by 2020.
These trends show a shift from private to public transport over time.
