Overall, student enrollment increased significantly throughout the decade, with the most rapid growth occurring after 2015.
In 2010, around 200,000 students studied in Australia. This figure rose gradually to 250,000 in 2013. After a short period of stability, the number increased sharply, reaching 400,000 by 2017.
From 2017 onwards, the upward trend continued, and international student enrollment peaked at nearly 500,000 in 2020, representing the highest point in the entire period.
